Join us as a volunteer!

The first step to joining our volunteer community is attending a Volunteer Orientation. This is your chance to learn more about Charlottesville Community Bikes’ mission and our Volunteer Program. We’ll talk about what we do, take a tour of the shop, and discuss how you can start volunteering.

We look forward to welcoming new volunteers into our Volunteer Orientation at 6 pm on the first Tuesday of every month (February through October).

We have a variety of opportunities for volunteers, such as:

• Cleaning donated bikes for our Referral Bike Program

• Refurbish kids’ bikes for our Kids’ Bike Program

• Cleaning donated parts in our parts washer

• Sorting donations and tires

• Sweeping and picking up trash outside the shop 

• Cleaning the shop (sweeping, mopping, cleaning the bathroom)

• Patching inner tubes

• Prepping bikes for our mechanics to refurbish 

• Taking out trash and recycling

*Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when volunteering at Community Bikes.
